中共党员,重庆合川县人,1965年1月生,现任中国矿业大学(北京)能源与矿业学院院长、教授、博导、教育部“**学者奖励计划”特聘教授,入选国家百千万人才工程、授予“有突出贡献中青年专家”称号、享受国务院政府特殊津贴、北京市优秀教师、北京市高等学校教学名师。担任教育部特色专业负责人、北京市优秀教学团队、北京市高等学校精品课程、北京市高等学校实验教学示范中心负责人,入选教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划。兼任教育部高等学校力学基础课程教学指导委员会委员,中国岩石力学与工程学会废物地下处置专业委员会副主任,中国力学学会理事,北京力学会常务理事,《力学与实践》副主编、《International Journal of Coal Science and Technology》、《岩石力学与工程学报》、《防灾减灾工程学报》等编委,以及20余种国际学术期刊审稿人。长期从事能源与矿业开发中的岩石力学研究,负责完成了国家973课题2项、国家自然科学基金项目3项、科技部国际合作项目1项、欧盟国际合作项目等。曾获国家自然科学奖二等奖、教育部自然科学奖、北京市教学成果奖等。在International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Science、Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering、Journal of Hydrology、中国科学、科学通报、力学进展等国内外学术刊物上发表论文180余篇,SCI收录50余篇、EI收录100余篇。

Short Biosketch of Professor Hongwei Zhou

Bored in 1965, Chongqing, China, H.W. Zhou received his BA, MA and PhD at Chongqing University, Xi’an Mining Institute and China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in 1985, 1991 and 1998. He served as a Professor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) since 2004, the Chang Jiang Scholars, Ministry of Education of China since 2012, and also as a visiting at Technical University of Silesia (Poland), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Technical University of Clausthal (Germany), Technical University of Freiberg (Germany), University of Joseph Fourier (French), Technical University of Denmark, Utrecht University (Netherlands).

Zhou also serves as member of Directing Committee of Mechanics Fundamental Courses of Higher Education of Ministry of Education, member of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, standing member of Beijing Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, associated editor-in-chief of Mechanics in Engineering, member of editorial board of Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, International Journal of Coal Science and Technology, Journal of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Engineering and guest editor of Environmental Earth Sciences.

Zhou has long term experience with rock mechanics in energy development and mining engineering, including fluid and gas flow in porous and fracture media, creep of geo-materials and mechanics of composites. Zhou received scientific and educational awards including the Second Class Prize of the National Natural Science Award, Natural Science Award by Ministry of Education of China, Beijing Teaching Achievement Award.
